Conformation dog shows are used to evaluate breeding stock.  Dogs are judged with others of their breed and graded by their breed standard.  In Canada, your dog requires 10 points to attain their Canadian Championship.  In the United States, it is a little more complex and you're required 15 points.  You can continue showing your dog after they finish their championship, by competing as a "Special" in the Champions Only class.

Your breed standard is your bible of sorts for conformation shows.
English Springer Spaniels require a significant amount of grooming for dog shows but if you're grooming your dog frequently at home to maintain their hair, the day of grooming is enjoyable.
Dog shows are ongoing throughout the year, and the dedication of those in the sport is unmatched.  Their dedication brings shows just days after Christmas and we consider our friends, family!

Obedience, Rally and Agility

English Springer Spaniels are highly intelligent.  They are very biddable and enjoy doing anything their owners set out to do.  Their willingness to please and their lean, active lifestyle make them a great choice to get involved in Obedience, Rally and Obedience.
These sports, more so than Conformation shows, are about the dog AND the owner.  You are both judged and one another plays a role in your overall score.
